It’s Beauty
The images of the Camunia civilization that flow through my mind
are not accidental but a constant research of a cognitive will,
dialogue, emotion, conveyance of images and rhythmic signs.
The rock is strength, safety, moral certainty of an enduring
existence, first shelter, spiritual heat.
My ancestors had to know it very well, so that it became the
support of their language, a familiar means of speaking, writing
and incidentally communicating their existence, their wisdom as in
an art book.
I’m not a researcher, a discoverer but a man who wants to find
images as these have been given to me: images, images only.
Naïve and childish these Camuni are and they own the wisdom of a
language simplicity.
Images of people telling themselves upon wide surfaces with
repetitive and renewing rhythms, musicality between full and empty
notes, between light and dark. It is dance.
Only by knowing their own status these images become “Art”.
The Camunia artist is poet and cantor able to make collective
images of life, which seem wandering in the universe, sweep over.
The all around nature, trees, mountains, sky and the valley itself
are the habitat of this wonderful Art.
Life is narrated here with its throbs and emotions, time is
estimated as intimate moment of telling everyday life, of
emotionally beating the sign, of highlighting the gesture and
exploring the relation.
Time is the sensibility of scanning figures on that space: a rock
surface that wants to be lasting in time.
The silence and religiousness of these stones convey a delight
unconnected with a rushed interpretation, a research of meaning.
It’s beauty.
